Greetings, and welcome to my journal. :) I love making all kinds of friends. You are welcome to friend me if you like, and I will generally friend you back unless I feel you are SO diverse from me that we'd have not enough in common to talk about. But, before adding me as your friend there are a few things I'd like you to know:

I am a Buddhist. This means, among other things, I believe in tolerance for all.

The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines "tolerance" as:

1. capacity to endure pain or hardship
2. sympathy or indulgence for beliefs or practices differing from or conflicting with one's own

I have discovered an *almost* inexhaustible tolerance in myself for most situations and people. I'm open minded, but not so open that my brains are likely to fall out. Simply put, I wish peace and happiness to all.

This journal discusses Buddha. Although Buddha was not a god, the existence of entities with supernatural powers is controversial, and many believe that gods, especially *other* people's Gods, are fictional.

Personal:

My first name is Joy. I was born in a year of the Earth Boar. I am a Virgo/Libra cusp, Moon aspects in Cancer/Gemini and I have a Taurus Ascendant.

By day, I am a chiropractic assistant. By night and weekends, I am a professional writer.

Family:

I am an only child, stepmother of two grown children. My parents are both gone now: my dad passed when I was 10 and my mother a few years ago. I have four cousins I’m relatively close with. Three live in Ohio and one in Washington state.

1.) If you see something you like, TELL ME. Tell me exactly what you liked and why.

2.) If you read something you didn't like or thought could be done better ZIP IT. (My inner critic does not need company.) You'll have to use your best judgment here as to what I wrote and how it affected you as to whether you want to not comment at all or de-friend because I really pissed you off. (I'm trusting here that people who are my real friends know my intentions and who I am regardless of what I create and will stay. If that's not you, so be it. I will not follow you to find out what happened. I will take it that my creative choices are correct.) :D

4.) BTW, comments or implications to the effect that no one can be a REAL writer unless they have a PUBLISHED NOVEL will be treated with extreme prejudice. To quote Clarissa Pinkola Estes, "Artist are artists before the first thing is created." Period. I will always treat you this way and I expect the same in return.
